Today Deb dropped me off on Highway 169 where I finished yesterday and I left my car at Copper Falls SP.  The hike was supposed to be somewhere between 11 and 12 miles but I sort of lost the trail and went happily on my way after I found the trail - in the wrong freaking direction.  About 3/4 of a mile later I was surprised to see a scenic overlook - I didn't expect it and was confused.  I then realized it was on my left, not the right and I was headed downstream, not upstream.  After looking at my tracks on Strava, and a few expletives later, I turned around.  3/4 of a mile later I found where I was confused and for the life of me I can't figure out why I didn't see the trail - oh well.

Trilliums are one of my favorite spring flowers.  Yesterday there were none in the woods blooming - today they were everywhere.  Kind of made my day.

Saw my first humans on the trail today but they were in the SP around the falls - does that even count?  Also saw 4 deer.

So far no mosquitos, hopefully that holds for a while longer.  I did once again swallow some damn gnats.

Tomorrow I will go through Mellen - one of two towns that I have to walk through, and then I'll enter the Chequamegon National Forest.

The beauty of the Trilliums....
