After coffee, eating breakfast, breaking down camp and leaving Jake's truck at the end we were on the trail at 9:15.  It was a gorgeous day out, warm, sunny and windy.  Too windy to fly Jake's drone.

The ticks were unbelievable - my clothes were treated with Permethrin and I still ended up with some ticks, Jake however ended up with an incredible amount of ticks on him - more than I've ever seen.  I was hiking behind Jake and I lost count of how many ticks I picked off his pants legs that he couldn't see - it was insane.  Fish, Jakes dog, probably had over 200 ticks taken off of him - Permethrin works.

Second porcupine I've seen on this adventure

What will this flower look like?

The boardwalk goes through the bog/swamp that is the source of the Brule River that flows to Lake Superior and the St. Croix River that flows to the Mississippi River.  Super interesting.

After finishing, deticking and driving back to my car we set up chairs on the back road that we had started from and might have had a couple of cold beers.  A guy drove by in his pickup, we waved and he just had an amused smile on his face, I can only imagine what he thought.

Current Lacation (just north of Solon Springs)
