Day 5 (9 May 2024)

Miles - 6.9

Total Miles - 31.6, Miles left - 184.4
Elevation Gain - 529', 2,553' total
days - 5 hiking, 6 total since start

Bike shuttling - 0.0 miles (total 5.6 miles)

Started at Wren Falls and headed towards highway 169 (again).  2 or 3 miles into my hike I had a choice - the new trail that is yet to have a bridge over Tyler Forks Creek or the longer route with logging road/gravel road/Hwy 169 - I chose not to be stupid and I took the long/safe route.  Deb shuttled me and will again tomorrow and then I'm going to be on my own for the most part.  I will also be doing some camping so I should start getting more miles in.

Tomorrow I will hike through Copper Falls State Park - awesome vistas and cool falls - 10 - 12 miles.

Beats the hell out of suburban grass yards

Until the Marsh Marigolds are done for the season I will continue to take pictures

At times the trail was hard to see - actually you can see more in the pic than in real life

This is what happens when frogs have unprotected sex - excited for tadpole season

At the end of my hike I'm back at Tyler Forks Creek - and no I wouldn't want to wade across this until July so I made  the correct decision - it looks tranquil but it's deep and the current is not to be ignored.
