Day 3 (6 May 2024)

Miles - 10.2

Total Miles - 22, Miles left - 194
Elevation Gain - 838', 1,687' total
days - 3 hiking, 3 total

Started just off Highway 169 south of Gurney.  The first 4.8 miles was a connecting link which is old logging roads.  This section was beautiful - no people, no vehicles - just nature.  Most of this section is good but there is always a flooded section - this  year it's better than in the past (drought)

After the first 4.8 miles I had a 1/4 mile of new single track and then I stopped at Foster Falls and had a cup of coffee.

Lots of wildflowers are starting to show - warms my heart

Couple of cool burls - which of course I had to take pictures of.

Finished at Casey Sag Rd - up next is my favorite NCT segment but since I did it last it's been logged and from what I understand the logging messed up a section of the trail - I'll find out on Wednesday.  Tomorrow is a  rest day  an adventure hiking with Jake in the Porkies.
