Another beautiful day and I made it to Douglas County - my last county until I set foot in Minnesota. The trail was beautiful as always but the bike shuttle roads were quite sandy. I saw a bear on the road after I dropped my bike off and was headed back to hike and I saw 2 deer, one hiking and one on my bike. Again no one is on the trail - to date I've seen 4 different people on the trail not counting people in the state park walking on trails that the NCT uses to see waterfalls. Tomorrow again I won't be hiking as Deb needs her car and then I'll camp Wednesday night and crank some more miles out Wednesday and Thursday. Hopefully I'll be back sometime over the weekend to continue.
The highlight of the day was when I got to a small lake and I saw 2 Trumpeter Swans on the other side and I tried to get pictures of them at which point they slowly started swimming towards me and I just sat there taking multiple pics trying to get a really good one. They ended up swimming quite close.
